Born in a poor family, Demetan becomes good friends with Ranatan, the daughter of a wealthy landowner. In spite of various obstacles, the two make efforts to turn their pond into a peaceful and livable community. Their purity and enthusiasm eventually change the minds of the other residents of the pond who end up offering encouragement and cooperation to the pair.
